The Department of Education administers and presents awards to recognize excellence in education. These national and statewide awards build community awareness of our state's finest educators, while providing positive messages about the teaching profession.

The Department of Education hopes that by recognizing the state's many excellent educators, more people will consider a career in education, and local communities will invest enough resources to attract the highest caliber professionals. As New Hampshire faces a shortage of educators the need to attract more quality K-12 teachers is urgent. More than ever, quality educators are critical to the future of our community and our country. It is only with such educators, that our children will learn the skills so necessary to succeed.

I strongly encourage any New Hampshire educator, parent, or administrator to consider nominating or applying for one of the many awards contained on this site. They represent the recognition and thanks of a grateful community, state, and nation.
